HP for their EliteBook family of professional-grade notebook computers will be making some new additions soon. New reports have exposed a new standard notebook and a newconvertible tablet PC (a notebook with a swivel touchscreen LCD).
The names for these new models are HP EliteBook 2560p and HP EliteBook 2760p Tablet PC. Release dates are unknown as well as prices but the features coming with either model are available. For the main features keep on reading.
First off these models offer LED back-lit 12.5-inch HD anti-glare displays as a standard, but the 2760p will offer a touch support (pen only option and pen + finger option) and WXGA (1280×800) HD instead of the HD (1366 x 768) the 2560p possess.Dell inspiron 6400 battery, Dell inspiron 1525 Battery
Other things like system storage and system memory these notebooks have nice offerings. Both have speedy DDR3 memory up to 8GB and max. 320GB (2760p) or 500GB (2560p) HDD (7200RPM) or a 160GB SSD (faster than HDD by good margin on average) storage solutions.
As for processing prowess these two EliteBooks have options from the up-to-date Core i5 an i7Intel Sandy Bridge chips. Options include dual-core chips only; a 2.30 GHz Intel Core i5-2410M, a 2.50 GHz Intel Core i5-2520M, a 2.60 GHz Intel Core i5-2540M and a 2.70 GHz Intel Core i7-2620M. If you don’t follow processor tech. too much each of those chips will be enough for all office applications and of course multi-tasking.
Other Business News
For features you should expect in any modern laptop, ports and wireless connectivity, these models have a lot of them. Both models will come with two USB 2.0 ports (one is powered so you can charge other devices) and a combo USB 2.0 and eSATA (fast port good for external hard drives or CD/DVD/Blu-ray drives). There is also Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n and Bluetooth 2.1+EDR standard for wireless connectivity on either model but you can configure up to HSPA+ Mobile Broadband too.
A connector port that seems to be missing for either of these upcoming models is a native HDMI output. Both the HP EliteBook 2560p and 2760p tablet have only VGA video output built-in and the 2560p has DisplayPort connector.
HP has kept the austere, down-to-business look of previous EliteBooks with its latest industrial design, but dressed it up a bead-blasted platinum finish, chemically strengthened glass trackpad, brushed-aluminum keyboard deck, and aluminum alloy hinges. Even the little details received attention. The janky capacitive touch buttons above the keyboard that were in vogue a few years back have reverted to hard buttons you can actually click. The bottom – normally a No Man’s Land of vents, labels, logos doors and slots, has been stripped, sculpted and styled into a relatively smooth plane of black plastic with a single access door. In a nod to the MacBook’s microscopic LEDs, the front has laser-cut indicators for Wi-Fi, power, charging and disk drive activity. This is a clean-looking notebook.
At 6.01 pounds, the EliteBook falls at the heavier end of the spectrum for 15-inch notebooks. A budget box like Gateway’s EV Series can easily hit 5.3 pounds, and even the comparably tough MacBook Pro 15 weighs 5.6 pounds. The extra weight makes the EliteBook a bit of a bear to handle with one hand, but it doesn’t quite reach the oppressive weight of a true desktop replacement. Depth of 1.34 inches is also nothing to brag about, but it comes with the territory in the “business rugged” class. A fully rugged notebook like Panasonic’s ToughBook 52, for by comparison, spans a porky two inches.
