Shopping around for laptops is a pain. There are so many sizes, prices, and gadgets to choose from, and unless you are a firm brand believer or a gamer, you are most likely not going to walk into a store with an idea of what you want. When asked, you’ll probably be more concerned with a price tag rather than the display clarity or processing speeds. But all laptop classes aside, the laptops below are the best on the market, and nearly all laptop reviews will agree:
Alienware M11x
Gamers can’t beat the bang for their buck with this Alienware laptop. For only a little over $1,000, users get excellent graphics and battery life, as well as a great 5.1 surround sound Klipsch speaker system. The look of this laptop is still the same as traditional Alienware laptops, but its performance has made leaps and bounds making it the ideal portable gaming laptop.

MacBook Pro
Apple has it right with it’s line of MacBook Pros, and the newest 15 inch edition comes with a majority of updates many had hoped for including extended battery life and second generation Intel processing chips. The MacBook Pro also has AMD graphics and the new Thunderbolt I/O which also makes it an awesome workhorse.
Samsung Series 9
The 13 inch Samsung Series 9 makes the list as it is the only Windows laptop to ever come so closely to trumping the MacBook Air. The 13-inch Samsung Series 9 has a longer battery life, an amazing display, and the second generation Intel Core i5 CPU making it an excellent ultrathin laptop. Unfortunately, it comes with an incredibly high sticker price which may make it off putting to certain buyers.
There are several other laptops that receive honorable mentions including the MacBook Air which was released earlier this summer; however, the three mentioned above take the cake so far. These laptops range in functionality, but they are overall great pieces of technology, and it is hard to find a user that doesn’t love them. While all, with the exception of the Alienware M11x, are a hefty investment, each machine is well worth the price paid.
