Samsung deny delivery a notebook computer software to secret spy

Late this afternoon, Samsung Australia said the allegations were "not true".
"Our findings indicate that the person mentioned in the article used a security program called VIPRE [antivirus software] that mistook a folder created by Microsoft Live Application for ... key logging software, during a Hp pavilion dv6 Batteries virus scan."Samsung laptop model R525.
IT publication Network Wold reported that Mohamed Hassan, founder of NetSec Consulting Corp, a firm that specialises in information security consulting services, detected spyware on a laptop he purchased from Samsung in February.
Earlier today, Samsung spokesman Jason Redmond told PC World that the company was looking into the allegations. "We take these claims very, very seriously," he was reported as saying.
Samsung Australia, also earlier today, said it was investigating the issue "as a matter of urgency" but could not comment on a local level because the issue had originated outside of Australia. "As soon as we have an update on the investigation, we will share this with you," the company said.
Security expert Chester Wisniewski, of security firm Sophos, said in a blog post Dell latitude e6400 battery that what Samsung had allegedly done was "astonishing".
"After the massive uproar that resulted when Sony installed rootkits on peoples computers when they listened to an audio CD, you would hope the world would realise this type of behaviour is totally unacceptable," he said.
When setting up the laptop (model R525), Mr Hassan decided to run a security program on it and run a full system scan before installing any of his own software, the report said. In doing so, it said he detected a secret program called “StarLogger” installed.
Typically known as spyware, the secret software alleged to have been installed on Mr Hassan’s computer is described by one website as being able to record “every keystroke made on your computer on every window, even on password protected boxes”. It goes on to say that the software is “completely undetectable and starts up whenever your computer starts up”.

After analysing the laptop, Mr Hassan came to the conclusion that the spyware must have been installed by Samsung, and so he removed it and carried on using it normally, the report said. But after some issues with the video display, he returned it and bought another model which had better features (model R540).
After doing the same security software scan on that laptop(Hp probook 4720s Batteries), the report said Mr Hassan again found the same secret software installed. This time he thought something was suss, and soraised the issue with Samsung.
After denying the presence of the software on its laptops, Samsung allegedly changed its story and referred Mr Hassan to Microsoft since “all Samsung did was to manufacture the hardware”.
But after the incident was escalated to a supervisor, Mr Hassan claims that they told him that they put the software on their laptops to "monitor the performance of the machine and to find out how it is being used”.
Network World said it contacted three public relations officers at Samsung for comment and gave them a week to send back their comments. “No one from the company replied,” it said.

Top Three Methods of Charging the Battery deeply

Top Three Methods of Charging the Battery deeply

Sealed lead acid batteries are notable in supplying steady current for a length of time. Thesebatteries are also known as deep cycle batteries. This type of battery has 50% to 80% discharge capacity depending on who the manufacturer is or how the Hp pavilion dv4 battery was made. It can be charged in three different ways: By float charge, bulk charge and absorption charge. Float charge is done by charging the battery when it’s discharging. This method makes the battery fully charged. Bulk charge gives maximum current that the battery can take. Absorption Charge brings constant voltage to the battery until the resistance of the batteries inside increases.
If you are looking for the best deep cycle battery and battery charger, the internet is always a good place to search for one. It is very easy to find the best kind of battery for RV, marine battery, ATV battery, motorcycle battery and a lot more. The website www.bestlaptopbattery.co.uk has a selection of batteries for almost all types of vehicles. They also have a list of chargers for the corresponding batteries they offer on their website from deep-cycle to UPS battery backup and solar panels. This website has various products for your battery needs.
Usually a new Laptop battery comes in a discharged condition and it must be charged before use (refer to your computer manual for charging instructions). Upon initial use (or after a prolonged storage period) the laptop battery may require two to three charge/discharge cycles before achieving maximum capacity.
Use a full charge cycle before recharging. All Hp 484170-001 battery, in our site are Li-Ion batteries, so, they do not have memory which you might find in NiCad batteries. However, each chemistry has a limited number of charge cycles, so use a full charge cycle before re-charging to maximize your battery's usage. When charging your battery for the first time, your computer may indicate that charging is complete just after 10 or 15 minutes. Don't worry, this is normal with rechargeable batteries. Just simply remove the laptop battery from the laptop and repeat the charging procedure.
Battery Care GuideTry To avoid over-charging, especially, do not let your laptop battery over discharged. It is normal for laptop battery to become warm when it's charged and used. The battery exhaust much faster under the high temperature, you should avoid using your laptop battery in shady and cool place. Hit the battery, and other acts will also accelerate depletion of battery. So, pay attention to your battery as much as possible.
If you don't use your Laptop batteries for 1 month or longer, you should remove the battery from your notebook, make sure leave your battery power about 40%, stored it in a shade, cool, and dry place away from heat, metal objects and direct sunlight, but not in the refrigerator. It's objected strongly store your laptop battery for over three months without any using. A charged laptop battery will eventually lose its charge if unused. It may therefore be necessary to recharge the battery after a storage period.

Top Tips to keep your computer running favorably

Top Tips to keep your computer running favorably by bestlaptopbattery.co.uk

Buying a new computer’s always a thrill — but sooner or later, your fast new machine will start to act like a clunker. Or will it?
With a few simple tips, you can keep your computer running smoothly.
Bestlaptopbattery(www.bestlaptopbattery.co.uk), a company that develops and publishes quality laptop batteries products designed to secure, protect, maintain and enhance computer users’ experience, provides the following tips:
1.    Clean out your computer registry. Every Windows Operating System uses a registry, or a central database that contains all of the settings for low-level operating system components, as well as any applications running on the platform. Every time you save something, run a new application or install or uninstall a program, new information is organized into your registry. But occasionally, the registry records something incorrectly. Over time, registry errors pile up and can start slowing down your computer. But running a registry cleaner, such as Advanced Registry Optimizer 2010 by Sammsoft, will fix registry errors and remove faulty files, helping your computer run quickly and smoothly.
2.    Keep viruses under wraps. Run a virus checker regularly. If you have a high-speed wireless connection, don’t use the Internet without a firewall. No antivirus strategy is perfect, so stay away from suspicious-looking Web sites and don’t click on strange links in e-mails.
3.    Get rid of unnecessary files. If you haven’t used a program in months or years, delete it to reclaim valuable memory. But always back-up applications in case you want to reinstall them later, and don’t delete applications that you don’t recognize, as Windows might need them to run. Never remove WINDOWS or HOT FIX applications. Also delete cookies and clear your Internet cache before you sign-off your computer.
4.    Never turn off your computer before Windows has shut down. Doing so so could harm the hard drive or result in lost data or Windows files.
5.    Back up Your Computer. Hardware problems occur more that you might think, and you don’t want to deal with the frustration of losing valuable data. Back up photos, Excel spreadsheets, Word documents — anything that you do not want to lose — on external hard drives or CDs.

Is iPad 2 Worth it after two weeks?

As some of you may remember, I did not own an original iPad. When the tablet originally launched, I declared it a “giant iPhone,” and actively made fun of those who considered making a purchase. After seeing the tablet in action, I changed my tune a bit; and come iPad 2 launch day I was sitting in the floor of my local mall anxiously awaiting the opportunity to spend $600 on my own personal giant iPod Touch.
So, has it lived up to all my expectations? After two weeks of tablet ownership, here are some of the thing I’ve enjoyed about owning the tablet, and some of the drawbacks.

Application Wonderland

The applications that have been made for the iPad are really what makes the iPad for me. Without them, it really would be a giant iPod Touch, and probably something I wouldn’t be interested in.Flipboard has changed the way I read news. If you’re never used it, Flipboard takes your RSS feeds, Twitter, and Facebook, and turns them into a virtual magazine of sorts. It looks pretty slick, and when you’re reading literally hundreds of sites a day, it makes reading them a ton more enjoyable. I love GarageBand, and I find myself playing a lot more games on the large screen than I do on my phone (not sure if that’s a good thing).

Portability

I carry my iPad with me pretty much everywhere. I carry around pretty big purses, but the iPad fits in every one of them, and doesn’t weigh enough that I even realize it’s there. Since it is with me everywhere, I find myself pulling it out a lot of places like coffee shops and bars waiting for friends (Yes, I’m that girl) to read news, answer emails, and do things I might have otherwise done before on my iPhone.
This past weekend I went to the beach, and brought the iPad to breakfast with me. I definitely looked pretty nerdy, but reading through news on Flipboard while drinking my coffee was a substantially superior experience to trying to read the same news on my iPhone, and I felt like I was comparable to others around me with newspapers and books. Maybe not.

IPad 2 vs. Original iPad

I’ve been carrying this thing around with me constantly since the day that I got it. Every single person that has mentioned wanting to buy one, however, I have suggested that they go purchase an original at deep discount. The things that stand out for me of the iPad 2 are also available on the original iPad. 3G iPads at AT&T are $200 cheaper now if you can find them. That’s a serious bargain in my opinion, and a better purchase than shelling out the extra cash for an iPad 2.
While the iPad 2 is definitely a little thinner, lighter, and faster than its predecessor…it’s not dramatically so. The forward-facing camera is pretty poor quality. I’m not a video chatter, but if I was, I probably wouldn’t use this thing. I had a lot of fun taking pictures with the built-in camera the first weekend I got the tablet, but the tablet is a little bulky to pull out to take actual pictures on a regular basis. I could definitely live without it.

Smart Cover

I purchased a pink Smart Cover and was pretty unimpressed with it the night I got it. Two weeks later, still not all that impressed, but I do use the thing. It’s done a pretty good job of protecting my screen from all the other stuff I keep in my purse, and the screen for the most part has stayed clean. You can see streaks on the screen, however, where the ridges in the cover are. Maybe I’m dirtier than most, so they’re there? But, not a fan. The cover is pretty awesome for creating a slightly elevated typing surface for the tablet. I keep it open (and elevated) all day on my desk beside me, considerably better than lying flat on the table. Would I pay $20 for the Smart Cover? Absolutely. $40/$70 I think is WAY overpriced for what it does.

iPhone 5 is really coming this summer

The same shadowy figured which can’t decide whether the iPhone 5 is really coming this summer have now posited that even if it does, Apple’s next-gen iOS 5 operating system may not immediately come along for the ride. And this comes at a time when there’s increasing speculation that with the iPad 2 seemingly less than the grand revolution Apple must have originally envisioned, there just might be an iPad 3 coming before year’s end. Put two and two together, and the swamp monsters might as well be claiming that iOS 5 is in fact going to be timed for a late 2011 release – alongside the third generation iPad. With Apple’s nearly religious penchant for sticking with its annual calendar updates, common sense says it’s all a bunch of hooey; the iPhone 5 and iOS 5 will debut in the summer, with whatever features Apple has ready by then; more grand ambitions will simply be shelved it the calendar doesn’t line up. And the iPad 3 will be a March 2012 affair. But it does make one wonder… what if this particular wildcard posited by the shadowy figures just happens to be accurate? The implications would be, at the least, intriguing.
The intrigue starts with the fact that there’s only so much operating system development which can be done a phone. iOS 4 is arguably all the iPhone needs for now, with features finding their way in on the 4.x releases just as surely as they eventually would with iOS 5. So the iPhone 5 could launch with iOS 4.5 and few would decline to purchase it (or enjoy it) as a result. But the iPad is a different beast. While it’s still a semi-tethered spoke in Apple’s computer-centric wheel, Steve Jobs has made it clear that he eventually envisions the iPad as the mainstream computer of the future; traditional computers like the Mac and PC would be only for power users. In terms of being less of a “big ten inch iPhone” and more of a computer replacement, the iPad still has a long way to go. The iPad 2 gained a number of nice hardware specs, but doesn’t really come any closer to becoming a true “computer” than its predecessor did. And the iPad 3 can gain all the new specs its wants, but it’ll really come down to the on-screen environment, specifically the sophistication of the operating system itself as well as the kind of sophistication it allows third party developers to bring to the table. The notion that iOS 5 would go hand in hand with the iPad 3 would be an intriguing shift on Apple’s part, as the company has previously released new versions of iOS at the time a new iPhone was ready. Such an iPad-centric shift for iOS would signal that Apple now sees the iPad as a more vital part of the equation than the iPhone – or else that the iPhone experience has evolved such that it’s time to put more chips down on the iPad side of the table. It would also explain why in the heck Apple would be rolling out an iPad 3 in the same calendar year as the iPad 2 rollout.
But that’s all speculation into what Apple’s motives might be if anything the swamp monsters are claiming about the products involved is even true. And we’ve learned such claims are always a crapshoot at best. Smart money says the iPhone 5, iOS 5, and iPad 3 will arrive when they’re supposed to, according to Apple’s well entrenched calendar. But if the iPhone 5 does arrive this summer without iOS 5 in tow, it might be time to revisit the validity of the foggy-bottom claims. Here’s more on the iPhone 5.

Thanks to Tablets and E-Books Are Coming Full Circle

As tablet sales, led primarily by Apple's (AAPL) iPad, gain momentum, it seems everyone wants in on the market. Not only are traditional computing and smartphone companies launching or announcing new slates, but makers of e-readers look ready to do the same. The Barnes & Noble (BKS) Nook Color, built to run on Google's (GOOG) Android platform, will reportedly gain an app store next month, while Amazon (AMZN) just launched its own app store for Android devices earlier this week, possibly in advance of launching its own tablet. Standalone e-book readers have their benefits, but the shift to reading on multipurpose tablets is on.
Ironically, this situation has come full circle, although I suspect few realize it. I bought my first e-book in October 2003, more than seven years ago. Back then, there were no e-book reading devices. Instead I was reading my digital books on a PDA, or personal digital assistant. At the time, my Toshiba e805 was perfect for reading on the go, with its built-in Wi-Fi and 4-inch VGA color touchscreen. The handheld ran Microsoft's (MSFT) Windows Mobile 2003 operating system, so I had the ability to browse the Web and even install apps (yes, before there was an "app store"). In short, I had a great e-book reader that did a lot more besides.
Then the Kindle arrived in the fall of 2007, and with its arrival, the standalone e-book reader went mainstream. Sure, there were earlier attempts at bringing an e-ink device to the masses—Sony's (SNE) PRS-500 Reader made its debut more than a year before the Kindle—but Amazon's strength of brand and ability to negotiate with publishers, plus the inclusion of mobile broadband book delivery for no additional charge, turned the Kindle into Amazon's best-selling product. A number of other standalone e-ink readers have since followed, creating a whole new market. But the trend began to revert back to multipurpose devices with the launch of Apple's first iPad last April. I ended up selling my beloved Kindle because the iPad did so much more, plus it offered a Kindle app.
There's still a market for e-book readers that do nothing more than show e-book content. Some people will prefer e-ink displays that cause less eye strain and use power only during page turns, which allows the Kindle to last weeks on a single charge. But the growing tablet market, expected by some to sell 24.1 million or more units this year, indicates people are looking for a mobile device that can browse the Web, run various apps, and even be a portable television and movie theater, in addition to providing a solid e-book reading experience.
But why would Barnes & Noble, Amazon, or others even be interested in tablets when they already make a cut of the digital book content purchases? Two answers come to mind: losing control over that revenue stream on other devices and leaving money on the table.

Battery Wiki – Dell Laptop Battery Maintance Tips

When you first buy a laptop or any electronic device that needs to be charged before you can use it, always charge it to full capacity. A laptop will work with only a small bit of power, but if it is not fully charged frequently, it will start to lose its ability to hold a charge.
Power Management Tools
Every computer and laptop has options that allow them to make changes to the power management tools. In a Windows laptop, check under "Control Panel" and you will find the power options. You will be asked to identify the type of computer that you are using. It is important to choose "Laptop" from the drop down menu. Each type of PC will bring up a different option that will save power.

I infer a lot of friends that the Dell inspiron 1525 Battery is a gap between received capacity and existent after some time! Battery MaxiMiser software in the battery status is divided into scarlet, yellowish and light-green. Green represents normal, yellowish, and cerise represents a big gap between the received capacity and existent capacity, the battery is not in health status, if your battery is a reddish state, then your battery life likewise is running away! Yellow is relatively better than ruddy!
In fact, Dell’s ain software, there is the battery MaxiMiser repair option, you may seldom use, may ne’er used! This recovery can reconstruct some of your Dell inspiron 1300 battery capacity! Health status of the battery so that you have some recovery, which is the battery received capacity and the existent capacity of the existing gap becomes smaller!

iPhone tips & tricks You May Haven't Known

iPhone tips & tricks You May Haven't Known - www.bestlaptopbattery.co.uk
The iPhone, like the Mac, is extremely simple and intuitive to use. Odds are that you’ve never even cracked open the user manual since the way just about everything works is pretty obvious.
But its simplicity can be a double-edged sword… there are many small “convenience features” that are often hidden away. If Apple exposed them in a more obvious way, it’d take away from the elegance of the device. And its elegance is one of its strongest points.
diacritics
I’m sure that many of you are “power users” and probably know most of these tips and tricks. But I suspect that a lot of you are more casual iPhone users and will find this list useful. Even our team members that I showed the draft of this post to (people I consider iPhone experts), all picked up at least a tip or two that they weren’t already aware of. So I’ll bet there’s something Dell latitude d531 Batteries for everyone here…

1. Scroll to top

Tapping the status bar (the bar at the top with the clock) will make scrollable content scroll to the top. It comes in handy in situations like when you’ve scrolled down a long web page or mail message and you quickly need to get back to the top.
This may be the most convenient, yet hidden feature on the iPhone. I had my phone for months before stumbling upon it (and I didn’t even stumble upon it by playing around with the phone, but by reading the programming documentation on scroll views).
As far as I know, there’s no corresponding way to scroll to the bottom, though.

2. Screenshots

Simultaneously press the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons to take a screenshot of your current screen. You’ll hear a camera shutter sound, your screen will flash white, then the screenshot will appear in the “Saved Photos” library of the Photos app.

3. Saving images in Safari and Mail

Touching an image in Safari or Mail for a couple of seconds will present you with an action sheet which will enable you to save the image. As with taking screenshots, the image will get stored in the “Saved Photos” library of the Photos app.

4. Caps lock

Double-tap the Shift key to lock it.
This one’s actually somewhat intuitive but I was surprised by how many people aren’t aware of it.
Along somewhat similar lines, a handy way of saving a tap when you need to type a capital letter is to touch the Shift key then slide over to the desired key. This behavior also works for the Number key.

5. Extra keys

Do you need to type an umlauted-u (ü) but you’re not using the German keyboard? Touch and hold the U key and you get a set of additional keys to choose from.
In addition, there are several punctuation keys that behave similarly, so that you can type curly-quotes, etc.
And furthermore, when the keyboard is in “URL-mode”, where the “.com” key is available, touching and holding it pops-up additional options for quickly entering .net, .edu, and .org domains.

6. Lock / shut down / force quit / reset

You’d be surprised to know how many people don’t know how to turn their phone completely off. I’m not talking about “locking” the phone where you simply press the Sleep/Wake button on the top of your phone.
For a while, I was under the false impression that locking the phone was equivalent to putting your Mac to sleep. But when your phone is locked, the screen turns off but the app that’s running at the time continues to run. For instance a relaxation app is able to continue playing sound but save battery power with the screen off. So, locking your phone is actually more like “display sleep” on your Mac.
When should you turn your phone completely off? The two situation that I usually do this is when I’m almost out of battery and when my phone is acting kind of wonky.
If your battery’s almost dead and you’re nowhere near some way of charging it your best bet is to turn it off if you’re going to need it to make a call or check something on the ‘net (assuming you can forego and incoming calls/SMSs).
And if your phone’s been acting flaky, where apps are starting to get really slow Discount Dell latitude d620 Battery or behave unexpectedly, turning your phone off then back on usually gets things back to normal.
Have you ever been using an app and it’s become very unresponsive or completely frozen? You can force quit it by pressing the Home button for at least six seconds..
And finally, if your phone seems to be completely frozen where attempting to turn it off or force quit the current app does nothing, you can force a reset of your phone by pressing both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least ten seconds. Note that while Apple technically calls this a “reset”, it’s actually more like a “reboot” and none of your settings will be changed.

7. Home button options

A very underused, yet convenient feature is that you’re able to set the function for double-clicking the Home button. By default, this just brings you to the Home screen, meaning no different function than clicking the Home button once.
But if you go to the Settings app then navigate to General then Home Button, you’ll find a few handy options. I have mine set to go to my Phone Favorites but you can also set it to open the iPod app, or just show the iPod controls when music is playing.
And something I recently noticed after updgrading to the newest iPhone OS is that when you now click the Home button while already on the Home screen, it’ll quickly take you to the first page of apps. This is a great feature if you have your phone filled with apps… and who doesn’t these days?

8. Swipe to delete

In the Mail app and many others that use lists of items, you’re able to quickly delete an item by swiping your finger across the item… sort of emulating crossing something off a list. Doing so exposes a Delete button so that you’re able to confirm your action.
